I know, I know, I’m about a million years behind on all the awesomeness the Intergoogletwitfacetubes have to offer, but big thanks to Ze Frank for blogging about Dan and Dan’s Daily Mail song, so I could waste a dryer cycle watching their videos, including this gem, which is going to be stuck in my head for the foreseeable future, not that there’s anything wrong with that:

Yay for fun songs that combine eggs and tea—two of my very favorite things!

Hello readers! I know, long time no nothing. Such are the ways of Spring Break (wooo!) even when the earlier part of this week was mostly spent hiding from positively Oregonian-winter weather, and I maybe could have been writing instead of just watching trash TV on Hulu. But no. Spring Break! Woooo!

Today, however, the weather was lovely, and I was positively energetic, which I proved by going on my first New York City bike ride of the season. How is this at all related to TracyFood? Well, I’ll tell you: I needed this bike ride as a test drive (so to speak) for a ridiculous plan.

You see, tomorrow is Macaron Day, and a bunch of NYC bakeries are giving away said delicious treats to celebrate (and do a little self-promotion, but hey: free treats!) And because I am ridiculous, and because the weather is just that lovely, I got it in my head that maybe I could ride my bike from bakery to bakery, collect macarons from all seventeen participating locations (and if I were indeed going to eat seven almond merengue sandwiches with delicious sweet filling, I would need the bike ride to prevent myself from spontaneously combusting on account of all that sugar. So here’s how I schemed. (more…)

All right, party people, I’m pretty sure this is the last post in my series on traveling super-fancy Virgin Atlantic Upper Class style. The first was during the trip out to my Opa’s funeral early last month, then a few weeks later I showed off my flying fancy schwag (and the Virgin Clubhouse at Heathrow, OMG, and yesterday Friday I posted a bit about the actual in-flight experience. But I have, in a sense, saved the best for last, which is to say today I’ll be writing about what I ate on said ridiculously luxurious flight.

Perusing the menu.

This week’s Thank You is to Virgin Atlantic, for providing so many wonderful distractions during my sad trip early last month. When I rule the world, transportation to and from funerals will always be ridiculously luxurious, oh yes. In the meantime, I can be glad I got to enjoy the awesomeness in at least one direction. It started in the Upper Class Clubhouse at Newark Airport. You may remember my very dazed brother from the original “guess where I am?” post, and I have him to thank for finally getting a picture of me that showcased our swank surroundings:

Fancy!
I’m so fancy! I read The New Yorker!

Not pictured: the buffet. Or getting fast-tracked through security minutes before they started boarding, because why should the fancy, fancy likes of us have to spend more time than absolutely necessary among the little people? Tee-hee. Anyway, once aboard the plane, (more…)
