On my way out the door to an opening shift, I realized again that yesterday was a doozy (doozie? no, that’s definitely not spelled right). I got to Morning Glory a little late, so I didn’t really get any of my prep chores started before opening time, and at 7:30 (yes, AM) the phone rang, and I was within arm’s reach:

“Are you guys open yet?”

— “We’re open 7:30 to 3:30 every day.”
“So can I order some food to go?”

Okay, I thought, so that’s how it’s going to be. (more…)

Morning Glory Specials, 6 June 2008

The french toast is weird but surprisingly good; Gail made a test piece while I was closing the kitchen on Thursday and it took sort of a long time to get done (I’d already turned on the griddle and it’s slow to warm up) but then the bananas actually browned really nicely. The soup wasn’t done by the time I left, but it was smelling pretty good, and as always I am a complete sucker for all things portobello mushroom. Happy weekend, everybody! (more…)
