So on Monday I passed along a hot tip about frozen seafood, hinting that I had plans for the fish in question: black cod/sablefish from Trader Joe’s… and today I have pictures of the outcome of those plans, aw yeah.
Whenever Peter and I visit his parents, we try to cook a show-offy meal or two. Tonight’s featured the aforementioned sablefish in a green curry with asparagus, red bell pepper, green onions, and cilantro. I totally cheated on the curry, using a premade “simmer sauce” from Trader Joe’s which didn’t have too many mystery ingredients, doctored up a little with coconut milk with care for sensitive palates… it was an epic win. Oh, and did I mention we also made pad Thai?
Yeah, that was okay. And Peter made his version of deep-fried tofu with spicy dipping sauce, shown here in a picture of the whole delicious spread (minus rice, which I lack the skill to make photogenic):
Finally, because I cannot resist showing it off, here is my plate of delicious homemade Thai goodness:
Happy weekend, readers. I must click “publish” now to make sure this is still a Friday post.
