Foto Friday: showing off a Wednesday dinner. 3 April 2009 8:43 pm

Go go gadget KitchenAid! I could watch that all day, I really could. Next time maybe I’ll take a video. But what, you ask, is it kneading dough for? I’m so glad you asked.

Calzones! So awesome. I highly recommend clicking on that picture to check out the larger sizes on Flicker, which really get some awesome detail on the fillings, which included not just garlicky sautéed spinach and ricotta, but goat cheese, roasted red peppers, and broccoli rabe. NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM.
A few more delicious details about that dinner (11 March 2009, a day that lived infamously in my belly): Greg made a Caprese salad as an appetizer, and that evening’s dessert was so decadent it will get its own Valentines Day Voodoo Love Recipe post someday (seriously, it’s that sexy). I have The New Best Recipe to thank for teaching me how to make awesome calzone dough, but even more mad props are due to Greg, who really made the magic happen with his generous willingness to go to go on a kitchen toy shopping spree at Broadway Panhandler. (Also, y’know, for hosting these parties in general.) Like I said in Tuesday’s pizza party post, this little culinary adventure really confirmed how much I want a pizza stone, oh yes. Meanwhile, I look forward to borrowing Greg’s for many more delicious Wednesday night socioculinary exploits. Go team!
