I bought myself pretty, pretty flowers at the greenmarket next to the American Museum of Natural History last week, and persuaded Peter to take pictures of how silly-happy they made me:

That’s no flower! That’s the dreaded broccoli monster! It is luring you in with its pleasant appearance. But it is NOT easy being green, and it will raid your intestinal tract, creating a musical symphony of gastro-intestinal disquiet.

Very, very pretty, and the broccoli looks nice too.

The funny thing is I’m actually feeling super-shaggy: it’s been almost two months since somebody took the bait in the Flickr photoset entitled “Are you there, God? It’s me, Tracy, and I really need a haircut.” As for the dreaded broccoli monster, it is no match for my intestinal fortitude! I put it in Sexy Mac ‘n Cheese one night, and tonight Peter finished the last of it in a Madhur Jaffrey recipe.
