Why yes, I am up awfully early. 17 July 2008 6:20 am

That’s what 6:30 AM opening shifts do to a person, doncha know. I traded for this one, since the prep list was freaking huge and I felt bad inflicting it on the new guy (who had to leave early yesterday, which contributed to the mess I’m about to go wrangle, but then again I actually like prep). Also, there was this:

Not exactly an office memo.

Like I said in its title on Flickr, that’s not exactly an office memo, just notes about a spot of bad news, on the bad news itself. Here’s a closeup on the notes:

Closeup on my little masking tape notes.

Yep, on the right is an old-school mechanical juicer, and on the left is ridiculously overpowered electric one (like, I’ve gotten blisters when it ripped through a whole half-orange, including the peel, because I got distracted and held it down a little too long). Of course, there’s no danger from the magical machine today — it’s going to be all elbow grease and me working my biceps. Woo? (Speaking of grease, the mystery gallon jug behind the juicers is in fact where I restock the GMO-free expeller-pressed canola oil which is Morning Glory’s default cooking fat… everything else we use is even higher-quality, which I guess is why we get so many people surprised about price. Sigh.)

Oh well, I better get to work now. The great thing about opening is I’m often done before noon! Also, I don’t have to close. Yay!
