I took my pictures and cooked my concoction tonight, but now getting up for the opening shift has caught up with me and I am going to bed.

Posted by Tracy in : news, monkeys, school, dessert, meta, cooking , add a commentSo first and foremost, it’s Free Cone Day at participating Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shops (vegans, I know they have sorbet but I don’t know if their nondairy options are fully free of kingdom Fauna ingredients, sorry). You can locate a participating shop here… and there’s one within easy walking distance of my house, aw yeah. (Like, yesterday I got off the bus a few stops early there to do my grocery shopping and carry it home easy walking. Oh yes. Free deliciousness will be mine.)

2 PM: Skillet chicken and potatoes, with a microwave trick; kitchen thermometers, parmesan-crusted chicken cutlets with Sandra? Who’s Sandra? Excitement!
2:01 PM: I doubt I’ll ever cook any of these things, but the thermometer thing could be useful.
2:01 PM: Chris gives an intro: roast chicken and potatoes takes an hour and a half, how do we do it in half an hour?
2:02 PM: Go Julia! And they’re working with chicken breasts, not a whole chicken… poo, although obviously that’ll speed things up considerably. (more…)
