Just a bit more Nepal nostalgia. 11 March 2008 8:13 am
Posted by Tracy in : nepal, pictures, restaurants, travel , trackbackSo one public service announcement I meant to make yesterday is that I posted a few more Nepal trip pictures to my Flickr pages over the weekend. I kept going back to look at this one, so I decided to leave it in a prominent place for a few days (and now it’s here!)
I mean, wow do I wish I lived closer to this kind of fast food. Dal bhaat for 100 rupees? SOLD. And why yes, I would love tea with that, and all for under $2 unless exchange rates have gotten really whack. And those are the tourist-gouging prices!

hey there - thanks for the lovely nostalgia. . .i share in it. i did a short-ish trek in the annapurnas (ghorepani trek, if that rings any bells!) in any case, i found you searching for a recipe for dal bhat. . . i miss it so much! :) also - LOVE your philosophy generally. . . it’s really exciting to read your writing!
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for commenting! You’ve probably read how I lasted about a week without dal bhaat after returning to the States from Nepal — then I started experimenting. I’m *still* working on getting all my pictures from my trip captioned and posted to Flickr — it was five months ago, and the trek was just over two weeks in the Khumbu region, and I had no idea I could take that many pictures of anything that wasn’t my cats! Anyway, welcome to TracyFood! Great to (virtually) meet you!
