My technical difficulties, let me show you them. 18 February 2008 7:42 pm

Update, 8:34 PM: Is it better now? I went for a very quick and dirty cutting and pasting of a clean copy of the broken stylesheet in question, and it looks okay again on my browser (Firefox) but if people using other stuff could chime in, that’d be great. Whee!

When you’re doing the dishes and part of the faucet breaks off in your hand and you get shot in the chest with a big jet of water. And yes, I am speaking from personal experience. This was yesterday morning, and I barely had the presence of mind to turn off the water after yelping my surprise such that Peter came flying in from the other room to my rescue (not that there was anything he could do except say “Whoa” at the broken thing). I spent the next half hour or so sort of blinking and changing out of many soaked layers of clothing. Then we went to the hardware store for a new faucet, because although the old one was under warranty, I didn’t have a receipt or proof of purchase or anything, so alas. (We kept the paperwork for the new one just in case, you betcha.) So today I’m still feeling like an amateur plumbing badass, because while Peter took the old faucet apart, I did most of the installation of the new one, because I fit under the sink better. Yay competence! (more…)
