On Friday, while wrangling my Flickr photos in an effort to present pretzelliciousness, I found a picture I took last Monday that says a lot about me:

Breakfast, annotated.

I mean, check that out. Breakfast table more full of books than food, but all the books are about food, even the non-cookbooks, of which there are many. Breakfast itself is pretty classic Tracy, too: the soft-boiled egg is a little fancier than my usual favorite, fried, but still: homemade bread, even if it is from a bread machine? Very me. Of course, there’s tea, and next to it is a bowl of not sugar but salt, because while there’s sugar in the tea, it’s very much not the rule but an exception (as is the fact that it’s mint green tea, not black). Salt, on the other hand, is pretty much essential in general (especially for eggs), and salt shakers, well, they’re just not how I was raised. Kosher salt forever, I tell you what!

For lots more about this picture, give it a click to go to the annotated version on Flickr. For me in more words, you can check out the newly-revised About Tracy, which now includes this picture because I couldn’t resist its power. And now I’m off to Morning Glory, where I’m covering Gail’s shift while she and Katya go have their partnership finally legally recognized by the state of Oregon. Hurray!
