Kitchen misadventure comics, especially for Chiara. 11 December 2007 8:16 am

Our story begins last week, when Erika Moen posted this adorable comic about her cooking anxiety (click on the image to go to the full comic on Erika’s pages, which I highly recommend exploring):

and I posted a happy fangirl comment to say that it was the most awesome thing I had seen online in days, and that I wanted to staple a copy to my graduate school applications to give just a little example of how I’m fascinated by stories of how people learn to cook and why. Then someone else replied to my comment with a link to a hilarious French journal comic about kitchen misadventures. (Warning! It’s in French! I had a hard time reading it! Also the website sometimes makes noises!) which reminded me of a similar story best told by my dear friend the fabulous Chiara (that one’s in English, and very much well worth the read, much like everything else Chiara shares with us online). Good times!

I totally sympathize with Chiara’s story. I brushed my teeth with my face soap once since it sits next to my toothpaste. bleh!

That soap story will NEVER DIE…much like the soap I can STILL TASTE, if I think hard about it. Dang soap.
