Nepal Trip 2007: Day 10: Puiyun or Surke 21 October 2007 1:14 pm

Puiyun (altitude 9175 feet, 2796 meters) is also sometimes spelled Poiyan, but it also sometimes doesn’t appear on maps except if it’s this Palya (Chutok) place on my big shiny National Geographic Trails Illustrated map of the Khumbu region. For added confusion, Surke (altitude 7525 feet, 2293 meters) is also sometimes spelled Surkhe, and it’s supposedly just 2 hours further up the trail. I have no idea, really, but I’m sure I’ll find out!

This post was written and scheduled for automagical posting in the week before I left on this crazy adventure. I hope to write many more posts about the trip — you know, with more actual details and pictures and stuff — but for now this is all we’ve got while my intergoogle access is all kinds of sporadic during my travels from October 9 until November 6.

Ooo! You are making my lungs hurt. I don’t dig those crazy high elevations.
