Spring break! Woo!

If I don’t post every day this week, it’s because Peter and I have plans to ride our Tandem Twosday to Corvallis and back — not in the same day, although yesterday we tested our capacity for long trips with an 80-plus mile bike ride, and it was awesome. Just to make it food-related, I would like to report that cheap, crappy pizza has never tasted as good as it did afterwards. (There’s very good pizza to be had in Eugene, but our favorite place doesn’t deliver, and we were definitely not up to leaving the house after our epic exertions.)

I may have a food book problem.

However, I also have a solution: read!

After staying up almost all of Thursday night writing my sustainable agriculture final paper (ugh; I’m just glad it’s turned in) I was getting ready to curl up in bed and read until I fell asleep, only then I collected all my library books into one place, into a stack that was easily over a foot tall: eleven books, three from my friendly local public library, the rest courtesy of the UO collection. And then there’s Food Politics and the copy of Sweetness and Power lent to my by Allison in January… woo! Spring break reading!

Tofu! Woo!

Tonight’s dinner involved a delightfully successful experiment in cast-iron tofu cookery. More details warrant an entry of their own.

Morning Glory menu update!

Remember how I opened Morning Glory last Thursday morning? Well, even if you don’t, your surprise is nothing compared to mine on discovering that our new menu went into effect that day. Whee! It’s mostly the same as the old, only improved. Now the only question left is whether to scan it and post annotations on TracyFood, so I can brag about all the delicious things I get to cook for work, and complain about the menu items that remain a pain in my phenomenally badass long-distance-biking rear.  Which sort of brings me back to where I started, which is as good a place as any to stop today’s monkeying.

Spring break!  Woo!
